Norman Edward Wallace, “Dodie” age 80 of Loudon, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Fort Loudoun Medical Center. Mr. Wallace grew up in the Loudon Church of the Nazarene where he enjoyed worshipping in his later years as well as being a long-time member of Jackson’s Chapel Baptist Church with his wife, Wilma. He was retired from Maremont with 22 years of service. Mr. Wallace was active with the Tennessee Defense Force and also volunteered his time with the Volunteer State War Era Veterans Honor Guard where he spent time visiting his fellow Veteran’s in the nursing homes and providing military burial rites. He served his country in the US Army as a member of the 278th Regimental Infantry Combat Team. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Amanda (Watts) Wallace and son in-law, John Murray. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma (Humphreys) Wallace; daughter, Norma Murray; son, Herman Lloyd Russell,all of Loudon; sister, Pauline Taylor, Lenoir City; grandchildren, Mechelle Miller, Brian Lee Russell; great-grandson, Bryan James Miller. Services honoring and remembering the life of Norman Wallace will be held 7:00 PM Saturday, June 16, 2012, McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Rick Kirkland and Rev. David Moore officiating. Interment 1:00 PM Sunday, June 17, 2012 in Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Loudon County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Contributions in memory of Mr. Wallace may be made to the church of your choice. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service at McGill-Karnes Chapel.
